Questions people actually ask us

Pricing, timelines, ownership, AI, and what happens if you decide you hate us. If your question is not here, ask it on a call and we will answer it the same way.

Working together

What do you actually do?

Two things. We build websites for therapy practices, and we keep them visible on Google and AI search.

That is the whole menu. No social media management, no course launches, no content calendars. We narrowed to the part that determines whether anyone finds you at all. Here is how the process works.

Do I have to do all three phases?

Most practices do, because each one builds on the last. But we meet you where you are.

Already have a solid site? We may start you closer to maintenance. We will never sell you a phase you do not need.

How long does this take?

It depends on your practice and how quickly we can get what we need from you. We will give you a realistic timeline on your call.

Anyone promising a fully ranked site in a week is fibbing.

Do you only work with therapists?

Yes. Only therapy and mental health practices.

It means we already know what a superbill is, why you cannot ask a client for a testimonial, and why your intake form is not like everyone else's. You will not spend the first three calls explaining your field to us.

Can you help if I do not have a physical office?

Absolutely. We build for how therapy clients actually search, whether you are local, telehealth across a state, or serving clients nationwide. No storefront required.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes. Ask us on the call and we will work something out. We would rather you be out living your life than white-knuckling a payment schedule.

Ownership and leaving

Do I really own my website?

Yes. All of it, from day one, even if you leave.

The site, the domain, the hosting logins, the content. If you fire us next week you keep the website and you do not owe us a fee to get it. We do not hold anything back as leverage. Here is why we are so particular about this.

Can you move me off Brighter Vision or TherapySites?

Yes, and we do it often. What transfers depends on your contract, so we will look at that together on the call. Usually your domain comes with you and the rest gets built properly, which sounds like more work than it is, since the design was never really yours.

One thing we will be straight about: moving can affect your current visibility, and we look at that honestly before anyone commits. Sometimes leaving your subscription site is not the right move, and we will tell you so. Our full review of both platforms is here.

What about Squarespace or Wix?

Genuinely good, and we recommend them regularly. You build and control your own site, you can export your content, and your domain stays yours.

If you are starting out and want to DIY something solid, those are a real answer and we will say so on a call. The therapy-specific platforms are a different arrangement entirely. We explain the difference here.

What if I want to leave?

You take everything and go. No exit fee, no hostage negotiation, no thirty day window where we hold your files.

We stay on monthly with a lot of clients because search does not sit still. But that should be a decision you make every month based on whether we are worth it, not one made for you by the fact that leaving would cost you your website.

AI

Do you use AI?

Yes, and we will tell you exactly how. Research, drafting, analyzing your search data, and finding patterns across your analytics.

Never with client data. Never with anything confidential from your practice. And nothing publishes without a person reading every line first. Here is the full breakdown.

Can I ask you not to use AI?

Honestly, no. AI is built into how we work rather than bolted on, and taking it out would mean a slower, more expensive version of the same thing with no real benefit to you.

If it matters to you that no AI touches your website, we are not your people, and we would rather say that plainly than take the project and quietly do it our way anyway.

Should I just generate my blog posts with AI?

We use AI every day and we will still tell you not to. Generated posts get indexed, sit at position sixty, and earn nothing.

The problem is not that a machine wrote it. It is that it contains nothing only you could have said, and that is the entire reason someone picks your practice over the one three miles away.

Getting found

How long until I rank on Google?

Usually three to six months before you see meaningful movement, sometimes longer in a competitive metro.

We build SEO into the structure so your site launches ready to rank, but Google still needs time to crawl, evaluate, and trust a site. Anyone giving you a firm number is guessing.

Do I need to keep paying after the site launches?

No, and plenty of practices do not.

What you should know is that a site nobody touches slowly stops working. Search changes, competitors publish, your rankings drift. That is what maintenance is for, and it is a real choice rather than a requirement.

Do I have to write the content?

No. We write it, using your voice and archetype from the planning phase so it sounds like you.

You review everything before it goes live. If you want to write some of it yourself, great, we will edit and optimize it.

What is AI search and do I need to care?

People now ask ChatGPT and Google's AI to recommend a therapist, and the practices that show up in those answers were not picked at random.

It is a growing slice rather than the whole picture, and most of your clients still arrive through regular search and referrals. But the gap between practices that turn up in AI answers and practices that do not is widening. Here is how it actually works.

Can I ask clients for Google reviews?

Not the way a restaurant can. Most licensing boards prohibit or discourage soliciting testimonials from current clients, and for good reason.

There is a lot you can do that is ethically clean, though, and reviews genuinely affect whether you show up in local search. We walked through the whole thing here.

Do you set up my Google Business Profile?

Yes, it is included in the build. Most therapists tell us theirs is set up, and when we look, it usually means claimed and then never touched again.

Here is what we check.

The technical part

Is my website a HIPAA problem?

Usually not the pages themselves. Writing about anxiety, listing your specialties, publishing your rates: none of that touches protected health information.

The risk lives in forms, where notifications land, and tracking pixels on treatment pages. We build with all of it in mind. We are a marketing studio and not attorneys, and we will say so on the call. Here is the full picture.

What is the difference between a domain, hosting, and a website?

The domain is your address. Hosting is the land you rent. The website is the house. SEO is the map to the house.

Nobody explains this and everyone is expected to already know it. We wrote the whole thing out in plain English.

Do I need to switch hosting?

Probably not. For a solo or small practice, shared hosting is usually fine and it is what we recommend. Do not spend more here than you need to.

It starts to matter if your site is heavy, your traffic grows, or you are a larger group practice with a lot of pages.

Do you build on WordPress?

Yes. It gives you full ownership and control, which matters more to us than any other consideration.

It also means any developer can pick your site up later. You are not locked into us or into a proprietary platform.

Still have a question?

Ask it on a call. Fifteen minutes, no pitch, and we will tell you honestly if we are not the right fit.
