In the fast-paced and ever-changing world of digital marketing, Jess has emerged as a dynamic and innovative woman, making a name for herself with her passion for building strong, authentic brands and her deep understanding of the digital space. As a consultant, Jess helps businesses establish a robust online presence and drive growth. She is also our go to for workplace culture advice and sounding board for behind the scenes systems in place at TME Brand Marketing. Her knowledge knows no end.

From an early age, Jess’s affinity for photography, design, and marketing was evident. It all began when her mom handed her a camera during their family Christmas celebrations one year, sparking a love for capturing and preserving memories. Her mother, an avid scrapbooker, helped build a foundation for eye catching layouts and design. This passion grew when Jess joined the yearbook team in high school and pursued photography and graphic design as a hobby and side gig throughout college.

After graduating from Texas A&M University with a major in communications and journalism, Jess embarked on her professional journey. She initially worked for a jewelry designer, overseeing all things digital, including the website and social media efforts. Later, she transitioned into marketing and communications in local municipal government, dedicating five years to serving her community. Currently, Jess is employed by a nationally ranked university and cancer center, where she plays a vital role in promoting doctors and programs while running educational wellness campaigns.

In November 2020, Jess’s path led her to TME (formerly The Mom Empire) when her best friend of 20+ years, Alyssa, asked for her help during maternity leave. What was meant to be a temporary arrangement turned into a lasting opportunity, and now Jess feels grateful to work with the talented and eclectic group of women that make up TME Brand Marketing.

Her current job combines her love for marketing with the opportunity to have a positive impact on society. Through various work and non-work related public service opportunities Jess is able find joy in and contribute to positive social changes that improve the lives of citizens. Her passion for helping others inspires her to continually innovate and refine her approach to communication and marketing.

“One aspect of marketing that is often underestimated or misunderstood is the complexity and intricacy involved in crafting effective marketing strategies.”

What truly motivates Jess and keeps her passionate about her work is the challenge of understanding audiences on a profound level. She thrives on delving into their minds, deciphering their thought processes, and unraveling their preferences. By gaining deep insights into how people think and process information, Jess can effectively tailor messaging and communication strategies to resonate with them authentically. She believes her work can influence and shape perceptions and actions.

Jess emphasizes that marketing is far more than catchy slogans and eye-catching visuals. It requires a comprehensive understanding of consumer behavior, market dynamics, data analysis, and strategic planning. Successful marketing involves in-depth research, meticulous segmentation, and targeting efforts to deliver the right message to the right audience at the right time. Marketing is not static, it is an ongoing process that demands constant adaptation and refinement.

Throughout her journey, Jess has encountered her fair share of frustrations, particularly when it comes to brands that lack consistency and coherence. Inconsistencies in visual elements, messaging, or brand voice can confuse consumers and dilute brand identity.

“Incoherent branding arises when different departments or individuals within an organization create marketing materials without adhering to brand guidelines or collaborating with each other on campaigns. Such incoherence makes it challenging for customers to recognize and connect with the brand, ultimately undermining its effectiveness.”

When it comes to colors, Jess doesn’t have one favorite combination. However, she lights up when she sees companies utilizing color theory in their branding. Colors possess the power to evoke emotions, convey messages, and shape perceptions, making them a crucial element in branding. Understanding the psychology of colors helps brands strategically select color combinations that align with their identity and resonate with their target audience.

Choosing the right color combination involves considering factors such as the brand’s personality, industry, and target demographic. Harmonious color combinations enhance brand recognition and create a cohesive visual identity. Successful examples include complementary pairs like blue and orange, analogous schemes like yellow, orange, and red, or monochromatic palettes using different shades and tints of a single color. Ultimately, the ideal color combination for a brand depends on its unique characteristics and the desired emotional response from its audience.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Jess embraces several hobbies and interests that help her decompress. Travel, spending time on the water swimming or kayaking, reading, and playing cards and board games are some of her favorite activities. However, what she treasures the most is engaging in these pastimes with her close friends and family.

With her passion for marketing, Jess continues to leave an indelible mark in the world of communications and marketing. Her innovative strategies, dedication to authenticity, and unwavering commitment to positive social change make her a driving force on our team. Whether she’s connecting with diverse audiences or refining her approach to marketing, Jess consistently demonstrates her ability to empower brands and foster meaningful connections in the digital realm.
