In the marketing and branding world, Jennifer, a mother of three, stands out as a force to be reckoned with. She founded TME (Originally named The Mom Empire), a company dedicated to providing accessible marketing services to women starting their businesses from home. What began as a small venture has blossomed into a formidable competitor known for creating impactful marketing strategies for female personal brands. Jennifer’s expertise lies in marketing strategy, both in the realm of Web2 and the emerging Web3, as well as web design.
Jennifer’s journey into this field can be traced back to her college days when social media platforms like Facebook were exclusively for college students, and we were choosing our Top 5 friends on MySpace. Armed with a degree in Communications, she secured a marketing job and took it upon herself to learn web design and graphic design.
As demand for her freelance services grew, she made the courageous decision to quit her 9-to-5 job after the birth of her first child. This led her to establish The Mom Empire, an endeavor aimed at providing affordable marketing services to fellow moms venturing into business from home. Since then, TME has evolved into an industry competitor in the personal branding sector, catering to a diverse clientele ranging from work-from-home solopreneurs to corporate executives.
"Helping women promote their brand online is our passion, and we stay true to serving women through our work culture, flexible scheduling, and remote work opportunities.”
Jennifer emphasizes her belief in human-focused marketing when asked about her motivation and passion for this line of work. She derives great satisfaction from understanding what drives individuals and helping them create and promote their brands in a manner that truly serves them.
One key aspect Jennifer wishes the public understood about marketing and branding is the level of strategy and time investment required for success. She dismisses the notion that effective marketing can be achieved haphazardly, comparing it to throwing a balloon with force only to have it float back in one’s face. She emphasized that good marketing takes strategy, and good strategy takes time. And both cost money.
As an expert in the field, Jennifer has her fair share of pet peeves. Surprisingly, one of them revolves around a typeface: Comic Sans.
“I mean, I feel like Comic Sans got a bad rap. It’s delightful. Just a happy little font going about its day until someone (probably a marketer) branded it as an unprofessional, appalling little thing.”
However, her primary peeve lies with agencies that promise instantaneous results. She firmly believes that search engine optimization (SEO) and social media growth are long-term endeavors rooted in content, relationships, and building a loyal fan base. While tools are available to expedite the process, Jennifer notes the importance of patience and investing time and effort into effective marketing practices.
Her current favorite color combination is white with slate blue/grey, and her favorite font combo is Brandon Grotesque with Montserrat Extra Thin. Beyond her work, Jennifer finds solace in various hobbies and interests that help her decompress. Reading, “running-ish,” and re-watching The Witcher in anticipation of the upcoming Season 3 all provide her with a much-needed respite from the demands of her profession.
Jennifer’s dedication to empowering women in marketing and branding is genuinely inspiring. Through TME, she has created a platform that provides affordable services and fosters a supportive environment for women looking to establish their personal brands. With her expertise in marketing strategy and web design, Jennifer continues to significantly impact the industry, leaving a lasting impression on her clients and colleagues.
